Take 495 to Rt 135 south. Get off at Powells Ave exit. Go left at end of ramp. Make a quick left into Bethpage State Park picnic grounds. Parking lot is at end of road (there is a parking fee). 12 Beginner to intermediate. Mostly single track with some fire roads. Trails are marked with various colored paint blazes and we now have a map. Trails are two-way so use caution. Try ringing a bell when coming around blind corners or call out. Trails are multi use so slow down and say howdy when your passing others. NY State Parks
Calverton Take 495 to Exit 69 North, Wading River Road. Take Wading River Road North to R25 East.

Parking lot is on the left, right after the hotel.

Beginner to intermediate single track. 8½ mile loop. 1½ miles of optional advanced hill climbs.

Pines
Take 495 East to Exit 66 sills Rd (Patchogue Yaphank Rd), bear left at Expressway Dr South (service road). Turn left at Patchogue Yaphank Rd. Bear right at Mill Rd. Bear left at Yaphank-Middle Island Rd. Look for park entrance on left.

$2.00 parking fee with green key, $4.00 without green key.
6+ Beginner to intermediate single track. 6-mile beginner loop with additional 5½ miles of optional advanced hill climbs. Suffolk County Parks
Cunningham Park Take 495 to Exit 27 Clearview Expressway south. Get off at first exit 73rd Ave and make a left. Go two blocks and make a left on to 210th St and go to 67th Ave. The trailhead is here at the opening in the guard rail along the sidewalk. 7+ Trails for all abilities from beginners to expert including a bmx style pump track and dirt jump sections. Eastport Take 495 to Exit 70 South, R111. Take R111 to East Moriches / Riverhead Rd East. Make a U-turn at the first cross-over on the left. Parking lot is on the right, before the overpass.

East Setauket Take 495 to exit 62 Nichols Rd north. Make a right at 347 going east. Make a left onto Belle Meade Rd. Look for trail entrance on right 100 yards after Island Storage Center at 171 Belle Meade Rd. Park along side of road. 8+ Intermediate to advanced with 12+ miles of optional diamond loops, featuring difficult hill climbs.

Edgewood Preserve Take 495 to exit 52 Commack Rd south about 2 miles. The trail head parking area is on the left hand side of the street. 17+

Beginner, intermediate and advanced trails with lots of single track. For the 5.5 mile beginner loop follow the white disc mountain bike trail markers. There are also 13 miles of additional advanced loops that use yellow markers to indicate more difficult trails, blue markers that indicate most difficult trails and red markers indicate advanced skill level trails. The old paved road is perfect for families with small kids to explore or just an easy spin.

Glacier 8 - Hidden Pond Take 495 to exit 58 Old Nichols Rd and head north one mile. Make a left at Terry Rd then look for Hidden Pond Park on your left. Enter the park and drive all the way in to the handball court. The trails start at the end of the fire road next to the handball courts. To avoid summer camp traffic you can make a left on to Motor Parkway which is just before Terry Rd and go to the top of the hill, look for the trail's entrance on the right. 8 Intermediate to advanced single track and double track with various colored paint blazed trails: Blue, Yellow, Pink, Orange and White. Optionally ride south across Motor Parkway and Old Nichols Rd and beyond as an out and back on the white blazed greenbelt trail. Town of Islip
Glacier Ridge Nature Preserve Take 495 to Exit 63 Ocean Ave. (North), follow to Bicycle Path Road and make a right, go to Independance Hill Drive and make a left (Town of Brookhaven Town Hall), go to the end and park near the windmill, trail entrance is to the left of the low white building (mulched path leads to trail head/kiosk). 9+ Intermediate to advanced singletrack with two optional diamond loops and fire roads. Hither Woods State Park Go east on 27, when you pass Napeague you will see a split for 27. Take the left fork heading uphill. At the top of the hill, turn left into the West Overlook Parking lot. The trails start here. Pick up a map at the kiosk (or download) 20+ Intermediate to advanced. Mostly singletrack with some water views. Hilly terrain with some sandy sections. Create your own loops or, for route suggestions, stop by the local bike shop and pick up the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society Map. Trails are maintained by East Hampton Trails Preservation Society and Spokespeople with the help of CLIMB.

Northwest Woods Route 114 East Hampton Look for trailhead off Rt 114 near Sag Harbor just south of Edwards Hole Rd. There is a big blue panel with map and description in the dirt lot. 8 Intermediate to advanced. Mostly singletrack with some water views. Hilly terrain with some sandy sections. Create your own loops or, for route suggestions, stop by the local bike shop and pick up the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society Map. Mannetto Hills Preserve Take 495 to exit 48 Round Swamp Rd and head south. At the fork bear right on to Old Country Rd then make your second right on to E. Bethpage Rd. Go to the end and make a right on to Washington Ave. Go under the service road bridge and the expressway bridge then park near the fire hydrant just across the street from the bike path and the greenbelt trail. Lots of parking on a wide shoulder. The trail entrance is on your right. Follow the white triangles. 4 Beginner to intermediate with some challenging hills. To add more trails you can cross the street from where you parked the car and hop on the paved bike path south to Executive Dr then cross the street and follow the blue blazed single track trail down to Bethpage Park, which is a relatively flat additional five miles to the parking lot with additional trails to ride within Bethpage Park. For more of a challenge cross the street from where you parked your car and head into the blue blazed single track trail north to Stillwell Woods which is a hilly advanced ride of about five miles with additional trails to ride within Stillwell Woods. Manorville Hills

LIE East to exit 70 and head south on CR 111, go past the 7/11, at Halsey Manor Road. There is a new Fire House on the right corner. Go a half mile past there and you will see a sign for Eastport Manor Rd. as well as the Shrine for Our Lady of the Island on your right. Exit right then make a left at the stop sign, go to the traffic light and then straight across Route 111 and head back north bound. Make an immediate right, you will see the sign for Manorville Hills County Park. Take the gravel road around to the parking lot. You can only see the sign for the park when you're on the east side of route 111 heading north. Once you are in the first gravel parking lot, you will see a sign for the hiking trail head. Diagonally across from that you will see a blue blaze on a skinny tree near a small dirt mound. That is the beginning of the mountain bike trail.

Or from 27 head north on CR 111 for about two miles till you see the Manorville Hills County Park sign on your right. If you come to the flashing light at Halsey Manor Rd...you've missed it

Intermediate to advanced with many hill climbs and no flat areas. The trail is two-way for 3.3 miles to a one-way loop. If you find your in over your head, turn around and go back before entering one-way loop. Option to ride to the easier Eastport trails for added miles.

Meadowlark Park

LIE to Sunken Meadow Parkway north to Pulaski Rd West Right on Old Bridge Road Left on Middleville Rd About 1/8 mile and trailhead parking will be on the left near the gated (east) exit for the VA Hospital.

Intermediate to advanced single track with many logs to ride over. Tight, twisty and technical terrain with some hills to climb. It's a one way loop, follow blue blazes. Horses may be on fire road crossings, speak up and be courteous.

Overton Preserve Take 495 to Rt 112 exit and head north. Go to Mill Rd and make a right. Look for trailhead on your right. Some people park at Home Depot off 112 if trailhead is full.  6+  Intermediate to advanced with 6 miles of optional diamond loops, featuring unique terrain.  Town of Brookhaven
Rocky Point Main parking lot: Take 495 to Exit 68, William Floyd Parkway North. Turn left on Whiskey Road. Turn right on Rocky Point Road. Parking lot is on the left.

25A Over Flow Lot: Take 495 to Exit 68, William Floyd Parkway North. Turn left on 25A, bear left at the 25A bypass. Parking lot is on the left.

Take 495 to Exit 46 North, Sunnyside Blvd. Take Sunnyside Blvd north to Woodbury Road. Turn right onto Woodbury Road. Take Woodbury Road to R25. Turn left onto R25. Turn right into dirt lot next to Stop and Shop  8 Trail is blazed with blue paint marking the route from Stillwell to the north and heads south to the Bethpage Park picnic area parking lot. Beginner to intermediate in the south section but north of Washington Ave it is more challenging. The section north of Jericho Turnpike to Stillwell Woods is considered intermediate to advanced. Take 495 to Exit 46 North, Sunnyside Blvd. Take Sunnyside Blvd north to Woodbury Road. Turn right onto Woodbury Road. Take Woodbury Road to R25. Turn left onto R25. Turn right onto South Woods Road. Just after Syosset High School turn right into the soccer field. Bear right and go to the end of the field, the trailhead is in the southeastern corner. 4+ Intermediate to advanced single track with an additional two miles of challenging hills as well as two miles of separate beginner trail.
